Ocean Salmon Fishing Red Hot

Monday, July 21st, 2014

Washington Coast Salmon fishing is red hot with limits everyday on very nice Chinook and Coho.  Don’t wait around our season is almost full.  If you ever wanted to target Chinook this is the year to do it.  We have had fish to 40 pounds!  and full fish boxes as you can see in these recent photos.  Give us a call and reserve a spot.  Also don’t forget the Columbia River –  the prime week is August 15-24 for those big slabs!

Winter steelhead has begun and we are looking for things to pick up with a bit of rain.  Here are few of the nice ones caught this week.  Good news for Columbia River Spring Chinook and our Fall Chinook projections, they look good and fishing will be great!

Great fishing on the North Coast of Washington this week.  We had full limits of Halibut and Ling Cod each day.  Salmon season is fast approaching so don’t wait around to get a date with us.  We hope tuna will also make a strong showing once again.

Umatilla Chinook

It is time once again to start planning those summer salmon trips!  It looks to be another good year for Chinook along our coast.  Beginning June 8 we will be able to retain two hatchery Chinook at Westport.  Our standard fishery will begin the last week in June.  We should see a few more Coho mixed in this year.  We will take a quick break from the coast and fish the Columbia River, near the Astoria Bridge, for Chinook from August 14th through the 22nd.  We will return to the ocean to fish Salmon and Tuna well into September.  Get your plans together and get out on the water this summer!

Winter Steelhead on the Olympic Peninsula

Monday, December 17th, 2012

It is that time again.  January through April for winter steeelhead on our majestic Olympic Peninsula Rivers like the Sol Duc, Hoh, Bogachiel, Wynoochee, and Queets.   After a great summer and fall salmon season we are ready to get back to steelhead fishing.

We have a few days left to book so don’t wait around.  This is one of Washington’s most popular fisheries.   Buy that special family a trip for Christmas.  They will never forget it.

Look forward to hearing from you.  You can also find fishing reports at www.washingtonwestfishing.blogspot.com

Don’t forget to get your halibut trip scheduled.  I only have May 9 and 30 left open.  I have days available between the halibut days for Ling Cod and Rockfish.

Ocean Salmon Fishing Updates

Mark Faile

Ocean salmon fishing continues to be great.  Fishing Umatilla off the north coast right now.  Lots of nice fish.   The fish are really deep this year and they are full of sardines and shrimp.  Looking forward to a great peak of the season coming up.  August should be off the charts for kings and we hope for a good showing of coho later in the month.  This dandy king was caught by on of our best customers Mark Faile of Federal Way.  Thanks for all you support over the years Mark and AC!

Westport Fishing Reports

Jon Miller

Westport salmon fishing continues to be great.  Over the weekend we had limits for everyone with fish ranging from 15 to 22 pounds.  They are not the bigger kings taht we expect to see in a few weeks but they are really nice fish and hard fighters.  We have had to chase down a few of them.

Weather has been great and the great thing is that the fish are right outside the harbor in 50′ to 100′ of water.  We get out there quick and are fishing in no time.

Not many silvers showing yet and that is to be expected this time of year.  August and September will be really good for coho this year around westport.

Please check out the rest of our fish in the newly updated weekly pictures gallery.  You can also see more fishing reports and photos at www.washingtonwestfishing.blogspot.com
