Ocean Charter Salmon Fishing

Monday, July 5th, 2010

Ocean salmon season is well underway and the king fishing has been the best that I can remember. Limits have been easy to come by at Westport. Right now there are lots of kings and a few silvers. Kings are averaging 18 – 22 pounds. Most silvers have not been clipped. I will be fishing Westport for the next several weeks before moving down the coast to Ilwaco to intercept this same group of fish as they stage near Long Beach. With the number of kings showing now the late summer bite near Ilwaco should be spectacular to say the least.

This nice king was taken on July 4th by Al Carol with his son Andy. Obvious with kings most of thethem have been taken off the downriggers going deep. We havebeen running out to about 220 feet and finding lotsof bait and fish. Weather has been relativelygood this year so hope for moreto come. Give us a call for more information. We have a few days still available.

Another nice king last week by a special young lady!
